First Nation Rights
Certain laws recognize the collective rights of First Nations peoples. There are certain treaties created to ensure Health Care, Education, Hunting and Fishing Rights, Payments, Annuities and Special Benefits to the First Nations peoples which differ from other Canadians. For example, Hunting and Fishing Rights are given to First Nations peoples. They can hunt and fish within their specific area which had been appointed with certain treaties. This law differs from other Canadian citizens as they require a hunting permit or license. There was also The Indian Act which is a Canadian federal law that administers to the indian status, bands and Indian reserves. The Indian act challenged the First Nations because it limits their culture and identity.
