Numbered Treaties Timeline
Treaty One is a controversial agreement established August 3rd 1871 between Queen Victoria and various First Nations in South Eastern Manitoba including the Chippewa and Swampy Cree Tribes.
Treaty Two was negotiated and entered in August at Manitoba House. A few of the Canadian communities that participated in Treaty two include: Dauphin, Melita, Minnedosa, Roblin, Virden, and many more.
Treaty Three was held in October 1873. This treaty area lies within the boarders of Ontario.
Treaty Four took place in September of 1874 at Fort Qu’Appelle Sasketewan.
Treaty Five was negotiated and signed by the largest number of First Nation communities within Manitoba. It occurred at Berens River in 1875.
Treaty Six was in September of 1876. The treaty was within Sasketewan and was an agreement between the Canadian monarch and the Plain and Wood Cree, Assiniboine and other tribes.
Treaty Seven was an agreement between Queen agreement between Queen Victoria and several Blackfoot First Nation Tribes. It was concluded on September 22, 1877.
Treaty Eight was an agreement signed on June 21. 1899 between Queen Victoria and Various First Nations of the Lesser Slave Lake Area.
Treaty Nine was on July 1905 between the Government of Canada in the name of King Edward VII and various First Nations in Northern Ontario.
Treaty Ten was established on August 19, 1906 between King Edward VII and First Nations in Northern Sasketewan and a small portion of Eastern Alberta.
Treaty Eleven was an agreement established between 1921 and 1922 between King George V and various First Nations from the Northwest Territories.
